Our Tale Goes Back to France, Between the Two World Wars...
Matthew, a WWI veteran, had a dream that kept him going through all the wartime: to make his own watches in peace when he returned to his small hometown.
Matthew knew that the finest movements were Swiss ones. Luckily, Switzerland was just a few miles from his hometown, Mercury. He procured these movements and began handcrafting his own masterpieces, each imbued with a Swiss heart.
Matthew dedicated day and night, over weeks and months, to his beloved hobby, which rewarded him with once-in-a-lifetime watches and brought immense joy and fulfillment to his life.
Sadly, the onset of WWII a few years later forced him to close his workshop for good, leaving his hobby as a long memory of beautiful and peaceful days.
Matthew from Mercury teaches us that watches are not just timepieces; they are handcrafted symbols of a gentleman's commitment to excellence and a reminder to live each moment with joy, passion, and purpose - when the world is beautiful and even when times are hard.
